Did Roman soldiers ride horses?
Well, saddle up folks, because we're diving into the world of Roman soldiers and their equestrian habits. Now, you might expect me to say that these guys were galloping around left and right, but not so fast! Believe it or not, the majority of Roman soldiers were actually foot soldiers, not cavalry. However, they did have specific units of cavalrymen, known as equites, who were trained to ride and fight on horseback. So, while all of them weren't horsing around, some certainly were, making our image of a Roman soldier on a horse not entirely a wild gallop of the imagination!
